Re: Full support for zip and rar files

IMO there is a convenience associated with using ZIP (or other compression-based archiver) to package a group of images, esp. for non-technical users. Even if the size of the archive > the sum of the image sizes (frequent case when packing jpgs, for instance), not everyone is (or needs to be) concer...

Re: "Watch for new images" not working with multiple subfold

Support+

In the situation where digital camera images download into separate folders by date, a user might wish to select the parent folder and have the slide show automatically incorporate images from new subfolders as they appear.

There are other examples, too.

Re: Photo "Picks": Accept / Reject labels

I like the white flag/black flag approach used in Lightroom.

An very important part of this is filtering and sorting by the "flag" value in the browser.

The indicator needs to distinguish between Accepted/Rejected/Not Determined.

Re: MP v0.72 x64 windows memory fault.

I just experienced this problem. Only the Browser was open, and only a few (but very large) files in the folder. The thumbs for the files in the folder had already been created. The MP session had been running for over 24 hours and had been open at the same folder for most of them, but just sitting ...

Re: Feature request: separate .ini file

The wording of this suggestion highlights the inconvenience of the work-flow used to support alternative XnView INIs in the current versions (MP 0.72, Classic 2.31 on 2/26/15). For instance, the user needs an external file manager to make copies and rename the INI file. A unique command line is need...

Re: Touchscreen Support

Gesture support should probably lead to a new UI more suited for it: bigger buttons, different kinds of toolbar management, etc.

The whole "universal app" thing.

Not a trivial effort, certainly, but a very desirable one, IMO.

Re: Touchscreen Support

Support++++

I use a Windows 8.1 desktop from an Android tablet via TeamViewer. Teamviewer supports touch gestures (swipe, pinch, etc), so if XnView also supported those...?

Well, the mind boggles.

Re: Allow custom toolbar to dock inside Browser preview

Hi Pierre

A dedicated customizable tool bar for the Browser Preview panel would be fine. Settings could provide a toggle to display or hide it.

It just makes good UI design practice that tools dedicated to specific panels should share visibility with them.

Thanks for listening!

Re: Gif Me!

Hi John, ok, right if you have many files. I can write my own file selector... There is a substantial need for a modular file picker on Android. Something more like a Windows "open" dialog... In the meantime, perhaps simply allow the user to select from a list of installed apps which offer that fun...

Re: Gif Me!

Hi Pierre! Gif Me! works great but (as usual, please pardon me) I have a suggestion: The Gallery image selection mode is almost unusable. Sometimes I have 1000s of images on my tablet (actually on the external SD card) and they all appear in the gallery panel, one after another regardless of their l...

New image format: BPG

BPG is a new format that contends to replace JPG. There have been several such contenders over the years. This page compares some of the more recent contenders. It particularly interesting to compare BPG with WebP . Use your browser to zoom in on the image and then continuously sweep the divider ov...

Here is what this bug is like: http://s28.postimg.org/6ntgiowd9/Tree_Refresh_Problem.jpg This screen capture was taken on 10/27, but the folders beneath \2014-10-25 were created (not in MP) on 10/25. MP has been running for 2 days since the two subfolders (FlatsAndEdits and PNGs) were created and no...
