Re: Link to forum

I don't come here too often, and it always takes me a while of randomly clicking through the xnview.com site to find where the link to the forum is buried. Could you do anything about that please? When I'm away from home and using a public computer, I search for 'xnview forum' and click on the link...

Re: How do i make text darker in the tiff image ?

Probably easiest to experiment in a [Windows if you use Windows] program such as XnView Classic or 'MP to find the best settings. Are you able to experiment in a [Windows] program to more easily find which adjustment(s) and setting produce a satisfactory result? Suggestion: Try a levels adjustment ...

Re: 0.83: XnView MP can rename files to too long names

Could you post test long filenames for Pierre to use?

You could if you wish edit the above post, either pasting in the long names (if that works satisfactorily) or attach a suitable file (a text file would have to be placed in a ZIP or similar archive, I think).

Re: Multipage PDF to PNG maintaining page orientations

I can reproduce, your file opens normally in Adobe Acrobat, but when the pages are extracted using an NConvert script, only the left-half of landscape orientation pages is displayed... Googling the GS error displayed for some pages "ERROR: -101" produces this hit: [gs-bugs] [Bug 695848] Ne...

Re: Multipage PDF to PNG maintaining page orientations

Further: Which version of NConvert are you using, and which version of Ghostscript do you have installed? NConvert 32-bit requires Ghostscript 32-bit installed (even on 64-bit operating systems...). Nconvert 64-bit requires Ghostscript 64-bit installed. I have a vague recollection of a report of a p...

Re: Multipage PDF to PNG maintaining mixed page orientation

I seem to run in to an issue when converting a pdf file that has pages in both portrait and landscape orientation. All pages are converted as portrait, so some pages are cut off. This is the command i usually use: nconvert -dpi 300 -out png -merge_alpha -o outputpath\out.png -xall Is there a way to...

Re: How do i make text darker in the tiff image ?

I am converting tiff to png and I want the text in tiff should be darker after conversion. How do i do it ? Many possibilites: use a levels adjustment, brightness, contrast or possibly simply convert the image to black and white... Probably easiest to experiment in a [Windows if you use Windows] pr...

Re: Batch Despeckle?

it appears to work only on very low resolution scans/pictures, and the appearance chance is not very noticeable. I don't know f this is intentional to avoid unditting "i"s :D Commercial OCR software generally have despeckle functions as does Nuance PaperPort, which could be a lower cost r...

Re: Batch Despeckle?

Okay, is it already there? lately i've been asking for stuff that was already there so this time i'm directly asking if i can't see the obvious again. You try the Filter > Reduce noise action, although the setting isn't adjustable, and I have no personal experience of using it; you might also if ne...

I want to open multiple instances (multiple windows, not tabs) of XnView MP. Is there anyway to do this? I am looking for the easiest way. Thank you. If you download the ZIP version and create a shortcut to the xnviewmp.exe file, you can open multiple instances by launching it multiple times: Clipb...

I think you need to try to isolate the problem to one or two example files, and the simplest code required to reproduce the issue, so that it can be reproduced easily and investigated... :)

Re: un probleme avec / problem with "-levels 1 213"

PS tested with another bunch of images from another sources > same result :bug: I think testing with a single image that shows the problem (the JPEG you posted above?) and the minimum code that produces the problem (seems to be the levels operation?) is the best way to proceed... [I'm afraid I don'...
