Re: Deleting accompanying (raw) files while keeping primary (jpg) files
I would find it usefull to be able to delete in one click all companion raw files from primary jpg with low rating (1&2) for example. Exactly what I intended. I'd be happy to do this in 3 steps: Enable filter as needed Select all (ctrl+A) Action “delete companion files“ (e.g.via context menu)

Re: Deleting accompanying (raw) files while keeping primary (jpg) files
so a "delete without companion" to the contrary - rather a "delete companions" Both actions may make sense depending on the use case and on what people define for themselves as primary vs companion: for me JPG is primary (speedy viewing in XnView) and RAW, XMP etc. are companions. People using RAW ...

Re: Deleting accompanying (raw) files while keeping primary (jpg) files
all is in Settings>File list>companion I think I'm still misunderstood. What I was missing is an option to delete just the companion files for a set of selected files, without also deleting the primary files. As said, I found another solution using an external program which works for me better anyw...

Re: Deleting accompanying (raw) files while keeping primary (jpg) files
do you have tried the 1.00 release by configuring companion files? I did. Used 0.99.7 previously. I noted the various bug fixes in the change log for 1.00, but I don't see how my feature request would be addressed. However, as a workaround I wrote an external program which does the cleanup as descr...

Deleting accompanying (raw) files while keeping primary (jpg) files
I'm shooting JPG+RAW at the same time mostly and use XnView for quick browsing the images. Raw development is done in another tool (darktable), therefore I hide raw files by configuring the raw extension to be handled as accompanying file. I would like to address the following situation: At some poi...

Re: Copy/backup catalog info by folder
I'm getting a bit confused about what problem you are trying to solve. Do you have multiple copies online but only a single backup? I tend to backup entire folders anyway but I don't often duplicate image files. Sorry, I indeed had two different use cases in mind without making it clear: A) Ratings...

Re: Copy/backup catalog info by folder
You can (and I strongly recommend) writing the ratings metadata to the image file (or a sidecar according to your preference). I guess this is a "all or nothing" decision - use XMP inside the image or in a sidecar? Or could I write some XMP info into the image file while having other parts being wr...

Copy/backup catalog info by folder
Is it possible to somehow copy (rather than move) catalog info to another folder (e.g. backup folder on NAS)? I keep backups of my images on another location which is not permanently accessible for XnView (i.e. on a NAS or external hard drive). When moving or copying images there, I would also like ...

https access to forum
Hi,
could https access to the forums, or at least to a dedicated login page be set up, so we don't need to send the login name/password unencrypted?
Thanks, Lars.

Re: 0.86 (and 0.87 beta2): Geohack action disabled and GPS indicator missing
you need to update the catalog, 0.86 doesn't save GPS info into catalog... Oh, ok! Tested: removed one folder with affected images from the catalog, then used beta 2 and opened the same folder - all GPS info available, everything fine in beta 2 :D So for folders where I have other info (rating etc....

Re: 0.86 (and 0.87 beta2): Geohack action disabled and GPS indicator missing
Ok, "rebuild thumbnail" sort of fixes the issue, but only by actually changing the file itself. Therefore I'd consider this a workaround rather than a fix. I'd rather not need to rebuild thumbnails in thousands of images, which is time-consuming in itself and would require me to update any backup as...

Browse to customizable URL with GPS lat/lon
I'd like to have another context menu action next to "show in GeoHack", for which the URL containing GPS lat/lon values can be configured. An option for the lat/lon format would also be useful to support different services. Use Case: I often use the GeoHack with coordinates from an image to go to pe...

0.86 (and 0.87 beta2): Geohack action disabled and GPS indicator missing
XnView MP 0.86 (also tested 0.87 beta 2) 64 bit Windows 7 Pro 64 bit For most of my jpeg images with GPS coordinates, the action to show the position in GeoHack isn't enabled and the GPS indicator in the image browser is missing - even though the GPS data is shown in EXIF tab, the GPS tab shows the ...

Crossfading speed in slideshow
Hi,
I really like the crossfading function for slideshows, but I'd like it to have the transition a bit faster. Any chance to make this configurable? An .ini setting would perfectly suffice
Regards, Lars.
