Re: 0.98 "Filter by" setting causing XNView to open with blank fullscreen
Apologies, I missed your post. I've just installed Linux Version 1.4.5 64bits (May 10 2023), Libformat version 7.143 and it is still happening.

1.4.2: Browser filter blocking display of externally opened files
XnView: MP 1.4.2 64 bit OS: Linux 64bit If the browser filter is set to images only, on double-clicking on an MP4 file to play from outside of XNView e.g. File Explorer, XNView opens and shows a black screen with a small slide show toolbar at the bottom. Pressing play has no effect, and the only but...

Edit IPTC - Options behaviour causing loss of Caption changes
XnView MP Linux Version 1.0 64bits (Apr 29 2022) I'm having an issue with Editing IPTC values, and it might be how it's intended to behave, but I think it feels like a bug - or some behaviour that has not been completely thought through. Effect: IPTC Caption edits are lost - and not in an obvious wa...

0.98 "Filter by" setting causing XNView to open with blank fullscreen
XnView: MP 0.98.4 64bits (May 31 2021) OS: Linux 64bit Libformat version: 7.81 Effect: Confusing behaviour makes it look like the file is missing. XNView opens fullscreen showing only a blank background. When this happened to me with a video (because I had set the filter to images), I thought XnView...

Re: Wrong video orientation
Please try to use installed codec useInternalVideoPlayer=false I'm also experiencing this problem of inverted portrait videos in Linux version 0.98.4 64bits (May 31 2021). And when I tried to change the setting to false as Pierre suggested above, I went from upside down videos to black screen for e...

Re: Using Edit IPTC-IIM dialog changes image's saved state
The problem is that my Caption edits were unexpectedly discarded. Re-creation: 1. If the Confirm dialog (below) doesn't appear for you any more, go find the XNVIewMP INI file location and delete it.* Confirm dialog.png * Note: there may be a cleverer way of getting this dialog back, but I couldn't f...

Re: Using Edit IPTC-IIM dialog changes image's saved state
without changing values, you have the dialog?? No, I did change the values - just adding and removing some text I was testing with. I have discovered that if I move on to the next file without clicking the Write button, my caption edits are discarded. That is a new and undesirable behaviour. I used...

Re: 0.93.1 Edit IPTC/XMP Caption fails in single image mode
Now in edit mode, you have 'write' in IPTC dialog Yes, and it's great that it works - thank you! (Although what use is the 'Apply button then?) But it leaves the file marked as "unsaved" so I now have to navigate a Save dialog every time I make a single image caption change!? I want it to behave li...

Re: 0.93.1 Edit IPTC/XMP Caption fails in single image mode
This problem is indeed a duplicate of the one mentioned in the newsgroup, although I feel it has been resolved in a really weird way, and not in one that is particularly helpful. I think it would make the most sense if the Edit IPTC-IIM button functioned exactly the same way in Single Image as in Br...

Re: 0.96.1 64bits: Scaling up default Ubuntu font excessively
0.92 uses Qt 5.9.5, 0.94 uses Qt 5.9.7, and 0.96 uses Qt 5.12.6, they have perhaps changed the default font size.... Hmm, okay. I don't really know what to do with that unfortunately. Although I am surprised that I'm the only Ubuntu user with this problem. I'm going to have to stick with 0.92 and i...

Okay, installed qtconfig-qt4. Fiddled around with the font size and themes. Restarted a bunch of times, and still... No.

What should I be trying with qtconfig? (I've not played with that before.)

Re: 0.96.1 64bits: Scaling up default Ubuntu font excessively
Hmm, I thought I was coming from 0.94.3, but not I'm not so sure. I was testing different versions after some issues with 0.94.3 that we resolved, but perhaps I left it on 0.92. Can't be sure. Anyway, just deleted my user config folder, and reinstalled 0.92 - everything looks fine: Screenshot_2020-0...
