Re: how to control which file types to browse
Perhaps the PSD files are considered as images That was my thought as well. I mean they are kind of images, just with layers. Similar to an XCF file. Could you please try a bit more and see what happens when you uncheck all for checkboxes of "Image" temporarily? Are PSD files still displayed, then?...

Re: how to control which file types to browse
… PSD ( P hoto s hop D ocument) is not a PostScript format, which is why you have to add the PSD extension to the exclusion list as you did with XCF. I stand corrected, thank you. Perhaps this explanation helps a bit: You have two user-defined filter which can be used for including or excluding fil...

Re: 2.39: Gimp-made images crash XnView
So its the number of characters in my path ? I doubt any of my folderpaths has 255 characters. @Espermachine: What is the length of the complete path to your GIMP files? This particular file has 72 characters in its path (including subfolders and filename). My basic path is mostly "Bildbearbeitung" ...

Re: how to control which file types to browse
Something's not right. I put XCF in the upper space as you can see in my screenshot, and they are now filtered out. At the same time i have AI, PS and PDF unchecked, still i could see the psd files. Or does PS not stand for Photoshop file ? I tried putting psd in the space below and i can still see ...

Re: how to control which file types to browse

Your link works for me.
But the description on the archived page doesnt do the trick for me.
I added xcf and set the filter to custom, still xcf files are displayed.

Re: 2.39: Gimp-made images crash XnView
This is very unfortunate. I tried putting a single folder named Pillow Emboss into my root F to see if the nested folder structure was the source of the problem, but it crashed again. I also noticed that all my folders are write-protected, something i cant remove (i googled it, but the procedure for...

Re: Gimp-made images crash XnView
Perhaps the path of the image is the reason for the problem: XnView Classic supports short pathnames with ASCII chars, only. Could you please try and move the file to the root folder on drive F:? Okay, i put the image in F and it does not crash, when i open the image in XnView. The image was origin...
