Re: Rebuild Thumbnails does not work...
XnTriq you always reply with a list of links, how do you do it so fast? Do you have a database of links to call on? :) Autorefresh is the same as hitting F5, right? I do that anyway. My problem was that I have rotated the thumbnails in XnView, then burnt the images to cd only to find that they aren'...

Re: Rebuild Thumbnails does not work...
So is View - Rebuild thumbnails a refresh for Edit - Metadata - Recreate EXIF thumbnail? Why isn't the thumbnail rebuilt automatically?

Re: XnView Media Detector & IPTC Import
I think a great feature for XnView Media Detector would be the ability to apply details like Author, Location, Tags to the IPTC field in photos as they are being imported. It would save having to do this after being imported. But you can write IPTC, i don't understand Apply tags to the photos in Me...

Re: Rebuild Thumbnails does not work...
I see where I was going wrong but still confused. I was using View - Rebuild thumbnails when I should have been using Edit - Metadata - Recreate EXIF thumbnail My question is what is View - Rebuild thumbnails for if it doesn't work (never had for me)? And why have two similar commands even if one is...

Rebuild Thumbnails does not work...
I upgraded from 1.96.1 to 1.97 and same problem exists. Anytime I scan a photo, I crop to tidy it up. I use the Rebuild Thumbnail to update the thumbnail but it never works for me under any version of XnView. I end up having to open the image in GIMP and re-save with thumbnail to sort. Anyone else h...

Re: XnView must go Opensource!
I agree too. Its far better than Kphotoalbum, F-Spot, Digikam etc But I think a lot of the Linux-heads won't use it because its proprietary. Just need to improve the photo import tool or inLinux allow to interface with Rapid Photo Downloader.

Help. Rotated Photos Not Rotated
Have a bit of a problem. When I view my photos in XnView they are all in the correct orientation but when I burn them to CD or just view them in the folder many are NOT rotated. How is this happening?

Rob

Re: XnViewMediaDetector - multiple issues
3. problem : RAW images are not imported (.rw2) RAW (Sony *.ARW) can be imported but only after the jpegs are. Media Dectector doesn't seem to want to import all images at the same time. I would like to be able to tag in IPTC like tags are added in Flickr. It also should be able to import from USB ...

Re: XnView as a photo organizer?
Hi Pierre, I have worked with a number of photo organizers: Picasa, Adobe Photo Album and IMatch, and none of them truly matched my needs. They have extra features, but they do not have the XnView elegance and flexibility. You should try fotoalbum pro . Thats fine but it is not really germaine to t...

Re: XnView as a photo organizer?
@JohnFredC Yes a plugin could be a good idea but one that is automatically installed with XnView maybe. I understand that Pierre is working on standardising the code so that it will have a common look and feel across all version and I presume easier to upgrade as well. I hope that any future work on...

Re: XnView as a photo organizer?
Hi Pierre, Can I ask here as in which strategic direction you want XnView to develop? [...] The top three featues for me: 1: ability to rearange thumbnails in a folder to keep a manual sort order, 2: multilevel, IPTC based tags/labels to describe photos, 3:timeline for all photos in a collection. B...
