Problem with exif:orientation

Post by herb »

Hello,

working with XnViewMP 0.80 I have a problem with rotating an image by 180 degrees.

I open XnViewMP in browser mode and see all thumbnails of images in the selected directory.
Pressing e.g.: "rotate left" the exif tag exif:orientation will change properly.
Working only with "rotate left" or "rotate right" always works properly - no problems.

But pressing "rotate 180" sets the value of exif:orientation to 180 (= 0x00b4).
After this the value is displayed as "unknown 180".

I can reproduce this error also with version 0.79.

Best regards
Herb

Hello Pierre,

thanks for your investigations. It is really strange. But may be we use different settings.

I repeated the test and the error still occurs:
- working in browser mode
- using command cmd_rotate180 (without an l in commandname)
- tools -> settings->browser -> Misc.: "change exiforientation only" is checked
- tools -> settings->browser -> Misc.: "use lossless rotation (if possible)" is unchecked

Best regards

Hello Pierre, hello Helmut,

Yes, the problem with Rotate 180 is fixed in version 0.84.

By the way, I want to say thanks to all, going through all problems and errors to classify them as e.g. open, reproduced etc.
This is very very useful to keep an overview about all reported problems and also done corrections.
Thanks again.

Best regards
