0.84: Crash when zooming into large image

Post by helmut »

XnView: MP 0.85 b2 - 64 bit
OS: Windows 10 - 64bit

When zooming into a a large image XnView crashes.

Effect: Program crash

To reproduce:
1. Open an image in XnView's viewer
2. Resize the image to 20.000 x 20.000 pixels using Image » Resize.
3. Zoom into the image (large zoom factor)
Actual behaviour (bug): When zoom factor is at about 1000% XnView crashes :bug:

Expected behaviour: Image should be zoomed. No crash

Note: XnView MP 0.84 crashes when creating that large images and it says "File can't be open" when opening large files; therefore I cannot say whether the problem occurs in version 0.84.

XnView: MP 0.85 b2 - 64 bit
OS: Windows 10 - 64bit

Confirmed.

EDIT: I could resize the image to 20000x15000 in 0.84, in the browser, jpg > bmp. No error, no crash when zooming to 1000+% using Num+ (in viewer or fullscreen).

The same image (20000x15000 bmp) always crash in 0.85 b2, when using Num+ to zoom, or just holding it (in viewer or fullscreen).

Tested with version 0.86, XnViewMP crashed during zooming in.
Tested with 0.87 beta3, no crash when zomming in to max (1600%) and out an back in on another point.
