Hi,
I'm using XnViewMP Version 0.72 x64 (Dec 19 2014) on W8.1 x64
I use a lot keyboard navigation into the treeview.
Problem : DEL key does'nt delete current selected folder. Tried to change keyboard shortcut but no result.
Steps to reproduce :
Select a folder from the treewiew. Hit DEL.
Result --> nothing happens.
Expected result --> currently highlighted folder should be deleted.

Re: Delete with keyboard from treeview
Bug reproduced in 0.84.
Currently, XnView tries to delete a file when pressing "Del" key although the focus is in the folder tree (and not in the file list).
To reproduce:
1. Start XnView and browse a folder with image files.
2. Select two image files
3. Click on the opened folder in the folder tree.
4. Press "Del" key
Actual behaviour (bug): A message box appears "Are you sure to delete these 2 item(s)?"
Expected behaviour (correct): A message box appears asking whether you really want to delete the selected folder.

Re: 0.72: Delete with keyboard from treeview
This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.87. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

Re: 0.72: Delete with keyboard from treeview
Just tested with 0.87 beta 2.
Following the steps Helmut provided, pressing Del asks for deleting the folder, if pressed Yes the folder is moved to the Recycle bin. That's correct.
But if someone presses Shitf-Del because it should be permanently deleted, still the message "Are you shure you want to delete these 2 item(s)" is shown, pressing Yes deletes the two selected items, not the folder.
So not completely fixed yet, I think.

Re: 0.72: Delete with keyboard from treeview
Addendum, as understood from the topic:
http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=111&t=35903 (Deleting folders do not work?)...
I tested with Shift + Del also, which is not supported, so the bug is fixed.
So it's just that maybe the message asking if the items should be deleted while the folder was given focus should be suppressed here also?

Re: 0.72: Delete with keyboard from treeview
Yes, always, als long as there are files in the folder, the folder is selected (has focus in the Treeview), and Shift-Del is pressed.
So:
- Select a folder with files.
- Make shure the folder in the Treeview has focus.
- Press Shift + Del.
- Message appears "Are you shure to delete these n item(s)?"

Tested with 0.87 beta 3, Fixed.
When selecting a folder with files and pressing Shift-Del, nothing happens because Shift-Del is not supported.
The message "Are you shure to delete these n item(s)?" does not appear anymore.
