0.86: Wrong thumbnail orientation for raw files
Hi folks!
I am pretty new to XnViewMP so please go easy on me
I have a little problem here. When I import raw files the thumbnails look great: <fig. 1>
Now, when I change folders and come back to this folder it looks like this: <fig. 2>
When I doubleclick an item it looks like this: <fig. 3>
When I return to thumbnail explorer (which still looks like <fig. 2>, select all thumbnails en do menu / view / rebuild thumbnail it looks like this again: <fig. 4)
Moving from the current folder to any other one and back to this one resets the thumbnails again to fig. 2. These are raw files from the Sony RX10, but I've also seen it on G3x CR2 files
Am I doing this wrong?
Kind regards from Holland
Germie

Re: 0.86 Thumbnail orientation
Saw it sporadically in 0.86 again after a looong time. Used to appear in older versions. Same settings like Germie. Working with CR2 files.

I don't know what to make of this
Re: 0.86 Thumbnail orientation
I went looking for some ARW samples produced by a DSC-RX10 and downloaded YDSC03061.ARW from Imaging Resource. According to the Exif report for this particular file, the camera orientation flag is set to “Rotate 270 CW”. I used JPEGSnoop to extract the embedded JPEGs: thumbnail (160×120) & preview (1616×1080). To my surprise, the preview doesn't contain any EXIF information at all.

Yes I did test with these files.
Essential for reproduction is de creation of an XMP file by adding i.e. a keyword.
After that the portrait thumbnails change to landscape.
