Permanent Picture rotation

Post by Guldi »

Hello

thanx for this great programm

According the FAQ (http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=1420) pictures can be rotated automatically based on the EXIF information. I'm using 1.70 (4.51) under Gentoo.

The JEPG Lossless Transformations dialogue however does not offer a "Reset EXIF orientation value" but only a selection to rotate either:

- vertical flip
- horizontal flip
- Rotate 90
- rotate 180
- rotate 270

- trim image
- keep original...

Using one of this function seems to rotate all selected images (what I would expect). But how do I only rotate the pictures with wrong rotation permanently ??

PS: The browser shows the pictures in corret rotation and dispalys a little arrow in pictures which are wrong rotated. The goal is now to auto rotate a few pictures out of thousands automatically so the html export function can generate a list with proper rotated pictures.

But where... I'll move it to General forum.

Guldi, please try a new version (1.80.3).

He has the last version... for Linux :)
So this should be moved to the proper XnView Un*x section.

That feature came on a later version so... unlucky those who don't use XnView for windows :(
