Printing PNG problems

Post by keeko91149 »

Hi All.
I am new here and hope I have put this in the correct category.

My problem is, I used to be able to print png's with no problem up until a few days ago. Now when I bring up the print preview it seems as though the png is still attatched to the original.
For instance, if I clean a jpeg in the Gimp and save it as a png, in the XnView viewer it shows up as a png, but if
I try to print it it will print the original jpeg instead. This happens in both graphic vewing programs I have.
I have spent a whole day Googling the problem and can't find anything relating to it.
I would like to find out just what program XnView uses for the print preview.
Any information on this would be much appreciated as I am now tearing my hair out :x
Thanks
Jan

I don't understand, when you print a png, it's not this file that you see?
XnView load selected file, and print it, it use only the print driver..

Thank you for your quick reply.
Yes that is correct, I can see the png in XnView's browser window with a clear background, but when I want to print it in the print preview I see it with a black background, and that is what it prints out. Sometimes the original file is in the preview window and not the png.
The png will print out correctly from my Laptop which is running Windows 7, do you think it could be a problem with the printer driver in Windows XP?
