Maybe I'm missing something ... but I'm wanting to print a single image across a number of pages. For example 2x2 A4 sheets.
Is there a way to do it?
Thanks
Happy New Year everyone on the forum.

This would be a great feature! Other programs call such a function "printing a poster".

Do you have a software name to test?

Picasa
Picasa asks for a scaling factor, the tile size, and whether to overlap the tiles (but not by how much). It then produces new image files, one for each tile, with the files named according to their location in the tile grid. The user is responsible for printing the tiles separately.
Corel Photopaint
Photopaint integrates poster capabilities into the print layout function. It doesn't actually save the tiles to disk, but performs all tiling in memory. Photopaint has extensive WYSIWYG controls over the placement of the image on the tiled pages, including number of tiles in both directions, offsets from the margins, percent overlap between tiles, etc.
Most of the other poster softwares available (search Google for "poster print software") split the difference between these two extremes. I haven't found any of them all that compelling to use, however. Most of them are tarted up with "skins" and self-promotion.
If you are considering to include poster printing in XnView in the future, I think a fresh start with fresh thinking would be best.
