File List: Filter - custom defined (How should it work?)

Post by Peter2 »

I have problems to understand the functions of

Code: Select all

- Options - browser - File list - custom files
- File list - Filter
a)
Under "Options - Custom files" are two edit edit boxes where I can type in "extensions, separated by space".
  • What is the difference between box1 and box2?
b)
Under "Filter" I can select Audio, video, sounds, ...
  • Where and how I can edit what a "video" is?
  • Selecting e.g. "video" displays only videos and hides all other formats. But what happens when I select "custom"? Does it displays the standard files (from filelist) PLUS custom? Which custom - box1 or box2 or the customs which I selected under "Options"?

a) There is no difference, just use the checkboxes next to "Custom files" to include ( [x] ), or exclude ( [ ] ) the extensions in the field below. You can use the first one to include all and second to exclude all, but also to include "thumbnails" and exclude "other", for example.

b) AFAIK there is no way to define what a "video" is. Therefore there is "Custom files" option. When you add a video extension there (avi for example), the options (checkboxes) next to "Custom files" will be used, "video" options (for avi ext. only) will be ignored.
