XNVIEW- Thunderbird or default email client

I am a new user to XNVIEW. I am actually using it to replace Nuance PaperPort 11.

My issue is that I can't find an email button in the toolbar

and

When I go to email a picture it launches the XNVIEW email window; not Thunderbird.

I am running TB and I have it set as my default email client.
When I go to start/run/mailto: I get a new TB email window.

I don't understand the problem, other than that I am really liking the program.
