Playing m2t files (MPEG saved from DV/HDV camera)

Greetings!

Is there any way to make XnView recognize M2T format (MPEG stream, captured from an HDV camera)?

If I change the .m2t extension to .mpeg, XnView recognizes and plays the video, so I'm hoping that all I'm missing is an extension association somewhere to tell XnView that M2T files are MPEG video files. How would I go about this?

I have XnView 1.96.2 installed under Vista x64.
