XnView abends on scanning

Hello,
after using xnview for batch scanning of documents with ADF for several years without any problems I get an abend sice 3 days. I am using xnview 1.96.5 an the twain driver "HP commercial scanjet 5590 TWAIN 1.90". First I anticipated having a problem with the driver. But this driver works perfect with Irfanview. It seems to me as if the abend occurs on saving the first page to disk while scanning the second page. The windows error information is

It will be nice if anybody can help me, because I am very satisfied with xnview and do not want to chage to irfanview or use both (irfanview for scanning and xnview for viewing)

Hello,
I received the problem first with 1.96.2 and then upgraded to 1.96.5 where the error persists. But it had worked perfectly before with 1.96.2. I did not change anything within XnView or Windows before getting the problem (as every user did not change anything in case of a new problem (;-).

Oh ok, there is a little change in scan since 1.96, so perhaps the problem. I must add an option to use old method...

Hello,
I understand that my problem should be solved with XnView 1.97. How can I force XnView to use the old method for scanning? I think I have to specify something in the ini-file, because I found no parameter within the options-dialog.

yes in 1.97. I understood, that this is the first release which has a solution for the scan problems starting with 1.96.
