[BUG] ANI file display in 1.96.2

Hi.

I am using XnView 1.96.2 and I've just found ANI file:

which is shown incorrectly:


Other applications (i.e. IrfanView, Imagine) have no problems with it at all:

• That isn't new, the ANI support is lame for ages, I reported that i.e. in the French section a long while ago…
- Specially, the frames durations are ignored… SIGH…

Thank you for a link. I thought I set something wrong but after searching for a while for valid option I've decided to write here

I hope it will be fixed some day. For time being I will have to use different viewers just for ANI and ICO files. It seems strange for me that among 400 grahpics formats, those which I consider very popular are problematic ones.

• Well, that's a similar issue than for the ICO type formerly… It was a looooog and haaaard saga
to get it finally properly displayed…
- In the French thread, you could read that I sent samples 18 months ago “only”, no feed-back…

• The sample of the start message works now with 1.97-ß1.
- However, the other *.ANI (< 32 BPP) show still a black background and the frames durations are not respected either.
- Can't you process them as 32 BPP, like for *.ICO ?

• Like I said above, the sample ANI 32 BPP works, but still the durations of the frames are wrong :
- That file has 6 frames, 300 ms each = 1.8 second per loop; in XnView, it's much faster…

• Hoping that you got the samples

- Nothing more is fixed in the 1.97 ß-4 about *.ANI :
¤ The 8 BPP have still the black background,
¤ For all (8 & 32 BPP) the frames timing is ignored.
Note :  We get exactly the same issues in MP 0.21 (and previous)…
