I noticed that some of my images with embedded gps data seemed to be slightly misplaced in the map.
It looks like there are too few decimal places passed to google maps.
For example, if the data is currently passed to GM as 3 decimal places of degrees, then at least 4 decimal places is required to match a typical set of coordinates, and even 5 decimal places for a good reading.

As a point of clarification, the apparent rounding is only seen in the embedded GPS tab within xnviewMP.
If I use the tools-> open in google earth or Geohack then the full resolution is used.
