In XnView MP, the settings for toolbar and shortcut settings are stored in two files named "default.bar" and "default.keys". This naming of the files doesn't make sense because "default" makes the user think that the default settings are stored in these file.
Suggestion:
Files should be renamed so that...
a.) ... it's clear what these files contain
b.) ... it's clear that these are user configurations, not default configurations.
default.bar --> xntoolbar.ini
default.keys --> xnshortcuts.ini or xnkeyboard.ini
Note: By adding the prefix "xn" these config files will be next to each other and the user can quickly see which config files are available.

I just had to fiddle around with those files after moving to a new PC and having some rights management problems and I can just second Helmut's request.
Additionally the file extensions .bar and .keys are uncommon and misleading.
