Ongoing support for XP

Post by jww »

Some of us continue to use XP with no intent of ever giving it up, so it'd be cool if the 32 bit version could be run on XP after 0.84. I understand it's the QT lib that is responsible but could there be a workaround? 0.84 is "good enough", phenomenal program, some bugs here & there but tolerable. Wish I could get new versions though. I will be buying a license!

Why XP, you ask? Bloat. Windows 7 is not horrible, and xfce (xubuntu) is okay, but nothing beats the "feel" of XP. Windows 8 is unusable on a PC/laptop without touchscreen and Windows 10 is a spyware disguised as an OS. At this point in hardware evolution I run XP inside a VM with the underlying OS being Windows 7, but I only Chrome natively while everything else is nice and snug in XP. Phew! :-)
