Hello,
I played with XnViewMP version 0.53 in order to see which XMP-tags are written by XnViewMP when I enter a value to "Edit IPTC/XMP".
(I worked with editor mode: Only XMP).
For the date/time values I have seen 2 problems:
- Also in case a time value is entered for "created date/time" and "released date/time", no time value is stored inside XMP-tags.
- The format of the date values is YYYYMMDD.
But in my opinion the date-format should be YYYY:MM:DD.
As far as I know Exiftool, Zoner Photo Studio, Daminion Photo Management, all use the format YYYY:MM:DD.
So please use also this format.
Best regards
Herb

Re: date and time values
Hello,
as this problem is still open with XnViewMP 0.61 I will give some more details:
Storing date and time values within IPTC
- the date values have a proper format inside the image file, but
- the time values don't have: time is stored in format HH:MM:SS but it should be stored as HHMMSS in the image
(as far I understand the IPTC standard).
Stroring date and time values within the XMP section
- no time value is stored - only date is stored
- the format inside the image file is YYYYMMDD. But the standard requests YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS as format.
The result does not depend on the editor mode of "Edit IPTC/XMP" and it does not depend which date/time option is selected.
Please give a high priority to this problems.
Thanks in advance
Herb
