MP 0.30 Win: Full screen thumbs strip does not always render
The full screen thumbs strip does not always display thumbs, even when the thumbs are available to display:
The following image shows the browser with thumbs completely rendered for the folder. Notice a single image has been selected.
The next image below shows the results of pressing the middle mouse button (toggle full screen) on the image selected in the browser. Notice there are no thumbs in the thumbs strip. Toggling back and forth between the browser and full screen never shows thumbs in the full screen thumbstrip.
Some folders will display thumbs properly in the full screen thumbstrip, but most do not. There does not appear to be a regular pattern to this behavior. Sometimes toggling back and forth between the browser and full screen will cause the thumbs to appear. Sometimes not.

In 0.31 the behavior is better:
If the thumbs for a folder have completed displaying, then the full screen thumb strip displays properly populated.
*But*
If MP is busy making thumbs for a folder, in full screen mode attempting to display the full screen thumbs strip sometimes (not all the time) causes a crash!

Is it Fullscreen from browser mode? Is it with 'create whole thumbnails' on?JohnFredC wrote: If MP is busy making thumbs for a folder, in full screen mode attempting to display the full screen thumbs strip sometimes (not all the time) causes a crash!

Point the mouse at the top margin of the screen!
Also, there's a pushpin you can use to make the thumbstrip persist.

The worst thing about situations like this is: While looking for the solution, I already know it's gotta be the most obvious thing in the world. I just cannot see it. Anyway, thanks for helping an old dog learn a new trick!JohnFredC wrote:Point the mouse at the top margin of the screen!

For me zooming an opened image in or out before I switch to FS makes the thumbnails show up in the strip.JohnFredC wrote:Some folders will display thumbs properly in the full screen thumbstrip, but most do not. You should try pointing at the right margin of the (full) screen as well!

That's pretty self explaining UI design I guess it will change in the future [/quote]JohnFredC wrote:If you go to full-screen from the browser instead of an image, the thumbs will show.
Makes me wonder what else I've been missing out on. I better catch up soon!
I may not be able to pinpoint the problem exactly at the moment, but there still has to be something wrong with the syschronization between browser/viewer and also the PathBrowser/History entries in the Start section of xnview.ini.JohnFredC wrote:For me zooming an opened image in or out before I switch to FS makes the thumbnail show up in the strip.
BTW: I “Browse with XnViewMP” from the context menu most of the time. Perhaps that plays a role, too.
