0.70 CPU load very high (Linux)
Ahoi,
even when "doing nothing" (having been started after a reboot as first program, showing no pics..) v0.70 causes a CPU load of about 30 %... It soon rises to 100 % when I switch to a directory with a few images in it or do anything I'm used to do with XnViewMP... (No significantly increased memory load, though, as far as I may say…)
My system:
AMD Athlon(tm) II X3 460 Processor
8 GB RAM
Ubuntu 14.10 with Xfce desktop.
XnViewMP was installed from the 64 Bit .deb via "dpkg -i".
I deleted the old database files before starting 0.70 first (as I do from time to time and whenever I upgrade to a new XnViewMP version). So I didn't even have XnViewMP scan my images archive by browsing through its directories, but it already causes a much to high CPU load...

Re: 0.70 CPU load very high (Linux)
Same here, openSUSE 13.2 x86_64 . It occurred only in browse mode, closing the browse tab will make everything back to normal.
Re: 0.70 CPU load very high (Linux)
Thanks fpr your reply.
At least I'm not the only one!

I switched to the 32 bit version of 0.70 under Linux - same problem. And I gave 0.70 (64 bit) a short try under Windows 7 64 bit on the same (dual boot) machine - the same issue again as far as I can say, without having tested that very thoroughly.
So I at least preliminary downgraded to 0.69 on both operating systems.
It would be great if this bug (if it is a bug and not my incompetence) could be fixed - XnViewMP is such an amazing, ueseful (and cross platform) software!

Maybe, but unfortunately the browser view / browser tab is rather essential for my daily routine with XnVIewMP…Klassic Six wrote:Same here, openSUSE 13.2 x86_64 . It occurred only in browse mode, closing the browse tab will make everything back to normal.

Hello
Sorry, but I have also that high system load of 50% on my windows XP SP3 system.
I also deleted xnview.ini file so that XnViewMP 0.70 started from scratch.
But I still have that high load.
Best regards
Herb

Same problem here.
I see it's been fixed in v. 0.71... How long will it take for the public release of that version?
Thanks!
