0.79 Ctrl+X not working directly after start

Steps to reproduce:
1. xnview image.png
2. LMB+hold (may be setting specific) to select a rectangle
3. Press Ctrl+X

What should have happened:
Rectangle should be replaced with background color, e.g. white

What happens:
Nothing

Workaround:
4. After nothing happens in step 3, go into the menu Edit->Cut and press that
5. Rectangle is now replaced like it should have been
6. Select another rectangle
7. Press Ctrl+X => Now the shortcut works suddenly!!

Works fine for me in XnView MP 0.80 and 0.84.
