Tools >> Settings >> File list >> Format colors (tab) .. then add a new format color for a file type.. [This works]
However when attempting the remove a filetype color association the effect is not permanent - it removes the association as long as the current instance of XnViewMP is open, but the xnview.ini file is not altered. On a restart the removed association returns
(Tested XnViewMP 0.86 Win10 32bit)
eg in the xnview.ini file , under [appearance] , this data in unchanged by the 'remove' command :
