Some animated GIF files are drawn incorrectly

Postby Yury » Fri Oct 02, 2009 5:30 pm

Some animated GIFs are made in strange way, when not every frame is fully painted but contains only difference to previous frame or so as it looks like. In Internet Explorer browser these gifs are shown as they supposed to, but XnView draws each frame separately. Example here http://www.filepanda.com/file/fxckbi2mmjxr/

:) Hello !

• I confirm, that GIF seems optimized to save it as a smaller size… :bugconfirmed:
- I saved it again (as not optimized) in GFIE, then it's displayed alright in XnView…

… but alas, its size grows up to 874 KiB… :|

Yes, that's how GIF subframes are usually stored.

I'm not sure XnView should actually compose them into full frames or the current behavior is intended.

Either way, I have no problem with current behavior.
