In openSuSe 12.2 rpm for xnconvert don't work correctly:
- no item in openSuSe menu after install;
- does not start in terminal with user privileges and reports: "Absolute path to 'xnconvert' is '/usr/sbin/xnconvert', so running it may require superuser privileges (eg. root)."
- starts as root in a terminal. But why should I convert images as root?
In Yast Software Manager I can read the comment to the package: "(Converted from a deb package by alien version 8.79ubuntu0.1.)"
Please, correct the rpm package, so it can be installed and used in OpenSuSe 12.2

I downloaded tgz, unpacked in home directory and double-clicked on "XnConvert". XnConvert has started.
But this is a wrong way. Should I install XnConvert for each user personally? Should I create menu icon for each user personally? And other, and other...
Is it possible to just put the right package for OpenSuSe 12.2 (and other rpm distributions)? The rpm package in Download section is not valid and non-working. It may be because the package converted from Ubuntu with alien utility without considering the peculiarities RPM distributions?

openSuse provides a Build-Service, which also works for other main Linux-distros (Fedora, Ubuntu, etc.).
This is their Start-Page.
The work-process is described in brief here:
openSUSE:Build_Service_Tutorial
After the work is done packages can be found on:
openSuse-Software-search

Re: In openSuSe 12.2 xnconvert don't work correctly:
I downloaded new version xnconvert (1.55) and install it in OpenSuSe 12.2. Don't work with user privileges and reports: "Absolute path to 'xnconvert' is '/usr/sbin/xnconvert', so running it may require superuser privileges (eg. root)." But, when I moved script xncovert from /usr/sbin to /usr/bin program start correctly and work perfectly.
I'm no expert in openSuse Build-Service and unfortunately I can not help you.
