Custom filter: Exclude/Include and 'All'

Post by xnview »

If we add some extension in settings>Filelist>Custom filter - Exclude/Include, and we use Filter>All, the Exclude/Include setting will be used. I think that it's a problem. 'All' must show all files, what do you think?

That's the big question!
I think is just a question of terminology.
Custom refer to the "Exclude/Include" settings, is not clear enough because is the same term of the Custom in the "Sort by" section. Probably the function is right as is now, but just using terms more accurate:
Custom should becomes -> "As settings" or "As custom filter" or "As filtered"
All should becomes -> "All files in the folder" or "All files".

"Filter > All" must display all files. Otherwise one could think that a folder is empty and delete the folder.

Renaming the menu entries is not needed, I think it's clear that "View > Filter by > Custom" applies the custom filter.

Works fine in 0.85 test version: When selecting "All" all files are displayed.
