Hello,
I have some old WRI- Files which I have built in the past with the microsoft windows 3.1 programme "Write".
Is there any plug-in for opening (or convert) this files?
Thank you.

The .wri extension is not listed as a supported format in this list of formats supported by XnView software.IxenPDF wrote:I have some old WRI- Files which I have built in the past with the microsoft windows 3.1 programme "Write".

If you Google 'open wri file' there are some possible solutions shown, or XnTriq may have a suggestion...

WordPad used to be able to open files created with Write. You could also use LibreOffice or the trial version of Atlantis Word Processor to convert .WRI documents.

You can use it for 30 days free.
Once installed, open it up and crush the left pane away. Do File->Import, change the file type to windows write .wri, browse up the next file to convert, open it up, looks great, just like back in the late nineties, so now File->export, browse up the original again as Windows Write .wri. highlight(select) it, but then change the file type to Word 2007 docx, save, Edit->Select All (^A), Edit->Clear(Delete), and repeat as necessary.

Thank you very much.
I have chosed CWordPad because it is so little and free.
It's almost perfect. Much better than with WordPad.
