Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
It's interesting ... I have just discovered that files saved with version 5.1 of PS have this problem, but if I open them with PS CC and re-save them after making a minor adjustment, then the thumbnails appear in Windows File Explorer (using the Ardfry codec mentioned above). However with XnVMP I am getting uneven results — some thumbnails are back (great!), while other have gone to white empty frames. Trying to resolve this now ... have deleted all XnV thumbnail caches, rebuilt catalog, not fixed yet....

Thanks for investigating, dunntry! Please keep us updated.
Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
Cannot fix it. Here is what happens:
Oddly, if I change between icon sizes in Windows File Explorer, the thumbnail disappears at the very large size and very small size. With XnV, no matter what icon size I set, it does not show the thumbnail.
Adobe Bridge has no problem with any thumbnail, at any size.

What's really weird about this is the fact that SageThumbs works for you.dunntry wrote:Oddly, if I change between icon sizes in Windows File Explorer, the thumbnail disappears at the very large size and very small size. With XnV, no matter what icon size I set, it does not show the thumbnail.

Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
No, I'm kinda getting fatigued on this issue now. I'm just going to use Adobe Bridge. It should be easy enough to replicate this issue. ... I doubt Pierre is unaware.XnTriq wrote:Could you send Pierre a sample file via e-mail?
Yes, it is. Thanks for chatting with me.PS: Is Use embedded thumbnail (Tools → Settings... → Thumbnail → Misc) activated?
Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
i use PS 2017 CC, and even when changing this setting, the thumbnail is ok. Could you send me a test file?
Pierre.
Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
I think I've found two PSDs for your tests, Pierre:
According to the embedded XMP, both files were created with Photoshop CS5 for Windows.

Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
O.k., thank you, I can also reproduce the problem. Issue 1280 is fixed in next version.
Pierre.

Great stuff!
Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.87. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
Pierre.
Re: Photoshop PSD thumbnail support
Beta 1 & 2 of MP 0.87 create a correct thumbnail for Candy-text-effect.psd, but when I open the file in view mode, the first “page” is mangled:xnview wrote:This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 0.87. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.
