I have been using the cache feature mainly with images without metadata/thumbnail. This changed this year when I got my first digital camera (Panasonic Lumix LZ5 6Mp). However, caching the photos from my actual camera (Pentax K100D 6Mp) made the cache grew more than what I would expected.
Playing with JPEGsnoop I tried some tests and got these strange cache size results.
("_orig": original file / "pict": 6Mp picture extracted by JPEGsnoop)
cache settings:
- one folder for each file,
- use embedded thumbnail (on and off),
- appearance 32x32,
- compression NONE,
- optimized

So the cache size for the original LZ5 file is 10KB (Good) while the original K100D file shows 53KB (Bad).
Does the K100D result make a sense ?
