Via the menu 'View->Display colour information' the user can activate the 'colour mode' and display the colour information of each pixel in the image.
Currently, this 'colour mode' is never switched back automatically to normal mode by XnView, that means when closing the image or even exiting XnView, this mode persists.
From my point of view, this behaviour is not so good and sometimes even confusing. Normally, one wants to know about the colours in a specific picture, and that's it. I think when exiting XnView or simply closing an image, the 'colour mode' should be set back to normal mode.
An alternative would be to offer options like this:
(o) Quit colour mode when closing image
( ) Quit colour mode when exiting XnView
( ) Never quit colour mode automatically
What do other people who use the colour mode think about this?

• Hi !
• In the opposite of others, I use always Colours Information,
and the new behaviour in 1.90 ß-1 is a mast in the b** for me !
• IMHO, it was not necessary to change this, since now a button can be set to enable¦disable it on the spot and very quickly.
• To avoid a GUI change, it could be an extra-INI entrys only, that could do the trick for me…

Re: KEEP !
I just need it every now an then, but when I need it, I need it to stay on. See http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?p=39677#39677Clo wrote:• In the opposite of others, I use always Colours Information,

I don't understand which button in which version you're speaking of. In 1.90b2 I just found View => display colour information. As this is "forgotten" from file to file, I'd like to have the above mentioned options.Clo wrote:• IMHO, it was not necessary to change this, since now a button can be set to enable¦disable it on the spot and very quickly.
Command and INI

• You could add a button in the tool-bar with the command : cmd_ShowInfo
• But you can also change the INI entry in 1.90 ß-2 :
ColorInfo=2 (permanent)
- 1 stands for next¦previous file only,
- 0 is the default which sucks a lot !

• It works fine for me now.

Re: Command and INI
Hej Clo, thanks for the hint
It works fine. But I think it can't be the desired behaviour of an application to manually tweak the ini file! How shall a normal user find out about that way?
Hence: I'd like the 3 options

Waiting for…

- When such entries don't get a UI when the final version is released, we add them in our Manual, so it's documented.
- Not done yet, because the update is not made, but I began @ home…
