[OK] RC1: Startup Directory - Current still doesn't work

Post by Hacker »

This is an old bug but I thought I'd mention it. Options - Browser - Startup Directory - Current doesn't work but behaves as Last used instead.

If you start xnview.exe? I can't reproduce it, could you explain more?

I have "c:\Programy\XnView\xnview.exe" as one of the icons in Total Commander's Button Bar. The Start Path for XnView's entry is empty. Now, when I click that icon XnView is started and I always land in the last used directory, even though I have defined I want to land in the current dir.

Example:
Use XnView, go to c:\alpha\, exit XnView.
In TC, navigate to c:\beta\.
Click XnView's icon. XnView starts in c:\alpha\ instead of c:\beta\.

The current workaround is to add "%P" (current path) to the Parameters field in TC's Button Bar for XnView.

Dreamer,

Use TC. :D

No, seriously, Servant Salamander does have an equivalent of the TC Button Bar, doesn't it? Does it work when calling XnView from there?

It has its own image viewer and "thumbnail viewer. I want to switch to another (free) file manager too.

But I'll try to check later, too busy now

OK, moved to "Solved Bugs, Requests, and Suggestions".

Now, "current" makes startup directory the directory when xnview.exe is.
Is it how it's supposed to be? Rather confusing if so. Something like "base directory" or "program folder" would be more self-explanatory IMO.

... or simply "default", as it's indeed where it starts up with a new ini file.

No, not here. How do you start XnView? Make sure there is nothing in the "Start path" property of the shortcut.
