Packaging xnview for distribution

Post by WDef »

I've packaged the xnview binaries in a .uci extension for Damn Small Linux (free linux distribution), and I wish to send it to the dsl testing repository for users to download. It contains the license documentation verbatim and will explicitly state in the info file that the program is freeware for non-commercial or education use only etc.

While I see from http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... distribute
that it appears to be ok to distribute xnview with a free linux distribution, and this amounts to the same thing, I still thought it best to ask permission.

So, is this ok?

PS: Thanks very much for this excellent software.

xnview.uci for DamnSmallLinux can now be downloaded from http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... l/testing/

If it proves to be ok it'll eventually be moved to dsl's main repo.

If you use DamnSmallLinux, please test - report any issues to the dsl forum 1st.
