Windows 7 integration? And "JumpLists" before final?

Post by budz45 »

the title of the thread says it all, according to one developer website source it has been said to be very simple native feature to support for Windows 7 users. The "JumpLists". Or maybe this question has already been raised and answered already.

I myself soon will be migrating to Windows 7 away from my dual-boots of Vista and XP :)

This is the "JumpList" feature in action for Windows Media Player under Win 7...Would be really nice to see in Xnview MP too

Also take a look at Paint.NET 3.51 which has stronger Win 7 support (directdraw), can you see the Win 7 like explorer bar and look at the appealing visual effect of the thumbnails just 'resting' on the far-right explorer-bar.

I ask could this be something that could be thought about in future to go attached above the tabs in the viewer of Xnview MP maybe?

It's like a mini start menu for applications that are on the taskbar on Windows 7 when you right-click. Microsoft offered this feature to it's new OS for developer's to code into their own apps.

for Xnview MP, the Jumplist option can be added under Settings>Integration , and you can also write "for Windows 7 users only!"

But the questions are, what Jumplists tasks should show in Xnview MP under Win 7? And is it possible for software developer's (like Pierre) to be able to offer it's users a choice in what particular Jumplists tasks can be displayed?

Pierre, you could possibly add these tasks:

|'About' Xnview MP
|Next file
|Previous file
|Quick slideshow
|Effects
|Paint plugin

....the 'About' menu would be nice to access from a Jumplist :P

I have another idea for the jumplist of Xnview in Win7!
Right now it only shows the last opened files!

What a user really need instead is a list of the last opened forlders in Xnview! That's useful!
Just one right click and you will see all the last opened folders. You choose one and you immediately can browse the foderl inside xnview.

You can also use both lists. One list of the last opened files and one list of the last opened folders!

Please add this....my mouse buttons will be vary happy to relax a little bit for all the clicks I will not need to do
