Hello Pierre,
and hello all XnView contributors, supporters and users.
Here are some suggestions (wishes) for improving usability.
Fullscreen: 1. autohide mousecursor, show cursor when mouse is moved & drawing cropbox (current option hides permanently) 2. panning(srolling) zoomed images with mouse, i.e. dragging by holding down left mousebutton
+ cropping of zoomed images by additionaly holding down shift key 3. fast/fine(slow) srolling, i.e. additionaly hold down ctrl key for fast scrollspeed, shift key for fine
+ configurable scrollspeed, fast = 200%, fine = 50%, user can edit percentage 4. configurable righclick menu like toolbar menu, user can add: rotate, flip, save as.., convert.. 5. add "fit to screen" to rightclick menu (currently accessable with keyboard shortcut only)
Cropping: 6. "undo"/"redo" cropping or a simple "restore" original image (also in rightclick menu) 7. save content of cropbox without need to perform/execute crop
Filecopy: 8. remember last used folder, where files were copied to 9. "move/copy duplicate files" options menu:
Dropbox Always [-Replace] Checkbox [ ] Skip when identical
-Skip Inputbox [ ] Autorename separator
-Rename
-Ask
Example:
Always Rename, Skip identical on, Separator is _ , duplicate filename copy result is: a.jpg, a_1.jpg, a_2.jpg ...
If Always Ask is selected thumbnails for comparison are shown when the files are not identical
as already suggested in another thread
Browser: 10. toggable display of path bar (including buttons) above thumbnailview (like toolbar, statusbar)
XnView: 11. Program can be closed with Alt-X anytime (same behaviour as Alt-F4)
Let me express that i'm not demanding these, just kindly asking/suggesting.
I've numbered the suggestions for easy reference in replies.
Thank you for interest and best regards.
Hello.
These are generaly good suggestions in my opinion.

This can already be done using the right mouse button.
Regards, Lostclown.
I have only one suggestion so far, and didn't feel it deserved its own thread. I hope no one minds if I add it here.
When in viewer mode with "fit image to desktop" selected, and using the Previous/Next toolbar buttons to move from image to image, it is necessary to reposition the mouse cursor each time an image of a different size appears. This is, of course, because the window itself changes size. It would be great if XnView automatically moved the cursor to the new position of the toolbar button that was last clicked.
I have no idea how hard this would be to implement. And I know that using a different "Auto Image Size" option would be a workaround, but I like the "fit image to desktop" settings.

More than one level of "undo" would be nice.
And perhaps a "previous" and a "next" buttons in the browser (for example at the left of the "up one level" button) would speed up browsing folders, I for one use these a lot in Firefox and in Windows Explorer.

"Previous" and "next" for what? To select previous or next item in the list?
Pierre.
forgot to login..
excuse me, i meant "back" and "forward"
and folders, not items!
let's assume you have 150 folders and subfolders, it may need heavy use of the tree's sliding bar (l'ascenseur ) to go to a folder then to an other then switch back to the first one (especially if you're using the preview-under-the-tree layout).
but perhaps that adding the most visited folders to favorites do the job as well, was just a thought.

Yes more undo and redo would be nice...
And that "previous" and a "next" buttons... try open "My computer" and go through few folders - then you can go back (and forward) with that green buttons - it would be very nice xnview feature
