RC5: Selection Swap Width and Height Fails

Post by JohnFredC »

Maybe I misunderstand the purpose of this menu option, but I thought it swapped a selection ratio between horizontal and vertical orientation... Back and forth between 3:2 and 2:3 , for instance.

Well it doesn't do that. The Set Selection Ratio marque remains horizontal always, no matter the selection ratio, no vertical (ie. "portrait") ratio is available except when using the freehand marque. Selecting the Selection Swap Width and Height menu option simply reduces the size of the marque instead of switching it between portrait and landscape.

Unless I misunderstand, this must be a bug.

:) Hello John!

- I can confirm that. Only a “free” selected area (with the mouse) allows to swap Width >> << Height

- I'm not sure this is a :bug: , though… It could be a feature, due to certain technical limitations.

- Let's wait for Pierre's opinion…

 Kind regards,
Claude
