Bug: Synchronize browser when view is closed

This option doesn't works with categories.
How to reproduce:
1) select a category, in browser window you can see all pics with a specific tag
2) open one of these pics
3) close view tab
4) now browser window show you the content of the folder where last picture opened is stored and not the previously selected category.

I'm using XnView 0.64 under Linux.

The bug is related to the sync option, if I disable it, I haven't the bug but I lose this important feature. I think that the browser's view synchronization is intended to work also with categories's selection.

Generally I select a category, I open an image and start to move forward to the next 10 or 20 images, then I close the preview and, without the synch option, I'm forced to search in the browser window untill i find the last photo that I have looked, before I can continue the research.

I'm seeing this bug also.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Find some images with the Category Filter, using any criteria, or with the search function.
2) Select an image from the search results and open it in the view mode with Tools->Open or Ctrl-O
3) Return to browse mode with File->Browse, or by double-clicking the image
4) The browser will now display the contents of the folder the image is in, rather than in the search results it was launched from.

If the "synchronise browser when view is closed" option is enabled in settings, then this behaviour is always seen. If the option is disabled, then the view can be closed without losing the search results by closing the tab, either with the close button or Ctrl-W, but the usual method of switching between browse and view modes always loses the search results.

It is not what I get...

With Tools | Settings | Interface | Interface |"Synchronize browser view" unchecked or checked

- Choose a category in the category filter,
- Double click on a thumbnail : viewer opened
- Double click on the image in the viewer : back to browser, same image but not among other images from the same category but among images of its folder.

We should stay in the category filter selection. Perhaps I'm missing something !
