0.84: Darkened screen when closing context menu

Post by TGB_72 »

The screen goes grey for a sec when I make a right clic to bring up the context menu and then clic outside this, this doesn't happen in xnview classic, see the capture

Code: Select all

Re: context menu and grey screen

Post by helmut »

Thank you for your posting, TGB_72, and thank you for the screen recording which helps to understand your problem.

Though, I can't see the important bit in the video which is the way you close the context menu (without selecting any item). Is it by clicking with left mouse button somewhere into the image? What happens if you click to close the context menu and keep the mouse button pressed for a long while?

My steps to produce the problem:
1. Open image
2. Right click onto the image to open the context menu
3. Left click onto the image to close the context menu and keep mouse button pressed
Actual behaviour (bug): Context menu is closed. A selection is started and complete image is darkened until you release the mouse button. :bug:

Expected behaviour: Context menu is closed. No selection is started unless you move the mouse.

Do the above steps and observation describe your problem?

Yes

The screen remains dark and the pointer appears ready to make a selection,
If after clicking I release the button without moving the mouse the screen return to normality,
Otherwise if I move the mouse before release the button a selection is made.

O.k., thank you, I can also reproduce the problem. Issue 1233 is fixed in next version.

Tested in 0.87 beta 3, fixed.

The screen isn't darkened anymore after left-clicking to close the contect menu, untill you move the mouse to make a selection.
