SE: Options to xnview Options window

Post by Dreamer »

Since Shell extension is a part of xnview, Shell extension options could be in xnview Options window. There could be also an option to disable/enable Shell extension quickly.

That's not possible, because some of the time you have to "log off" Windows to get Windows to stop using the DLL. I admit this doesn't happen with every version of Windows but it does happen!

You mean just this is not possible, right?

What about just hide it / remove all items form context menu?

And - what about first part of my suggestion?

Yes, correct.

I'm not sure I see the point in hiding it / removing it from the context menu.

The first part is fine.

OK, never mind, I'll start another topic with another suggestion...

OK. I'll suggest more options, so it would be better (but not too much).

It is possible with Win XP - more here (your hint ;) ).

For example, in ZIP version, you can't install Shell Extension without that hint (above). Another reason, user cannot disable / uninstall it now (link).

And sometimes you need it and sometimes don't - e.g. in explorer / file manager with thumbnails view it's not needed, but in list / details view it is needed.
