Yes, that color label style is also good and would be better than the current one.

Adobe Bridge style rating display in thumbnails
I am finding the current rating label style in thumbnails a little hard to read at a glance, in part because the rating colors are not distinctive enough.
I wish XN could display rating in thumbnails (and preview overlay) the same way as Adobe Bridge: no color, just the appropriate number of stars ...

display color label and keywords in the preview panel
XnV can already display rating over the image in the preview panel, which is great. I wish I could also display the color label and the keywords in the same preview panel. Best way would be the same as in Adobe Bridge, which nicely merges star rating with the color label in a single line, with ...

can you display color label in the preview panel?
I know I can display rating over the image in the preview panel, which is great. But can I also display the color label? I am coming over to XnView from Adobe Bridge, where it it nicely displayed as a background to the star rating (see attachments).

Hello,
For photo management I have been using for the last year Adobe Bridge. It is perfect, XMP compliant, powerful features, and free (just download and do not use a trial version of any of the Adobe packages, such as Photoshop or InDesign).

How to display Nikon Vari Program EXIF tag as thumb label?
Hello,
Does anyone know how to display Nikon Vari Program EXIF tag (Auto, Portrait, Child, etc) as a thumbnail/fullscreen label?
I can see that tag on the EXIF tag in properties window, but it doesn't seem to be available as thumbnail/fullscreen label
Any ideas?
I use Nikon D40.
Cheers,

windows live photo gallery and other organizers vs. XnView
Hello,
I have played recently with the windows live photo gallery and I must say I am quite impressed. It is really not bad, I expected a revamped photo viewer but it is actually a very capable photo organizer as well. In many instances better than Picasa: for example it has explicit tags, and they ...

XMP rating & color - keyboard shortcuts
Hello,
After readying the past posts about XMP I understand that there is a consensus that in the future XnView should write the internal rating and color labels to XMP. Right?
I would like to suggest something that goes with it. Can the rating/star assignment shortcuts be remapped to the plain:0 ...

Better IPTC/XMP support
Hello,
I heavily use IPTC to describe and organize my pictures. I have two improvements ideas for XnView:
1. add XMP support (XMP is slowly replacing IPTC as metadata of choice)
2. add ability to select and display IPTC/XMP tags in Thumbnails&Details and Details views, therefore allowing to sort by ...

I mean preparing a slideshow not in a "Slide Show" window that pops-up when you press CTRL+L, but in the normal thumbnail view, especially modified for slideshows

XnView as a photo organizer?
Hi Pierre,
Can I ask here as in which strategic direction you want XnView to develop?
As it is now, for me XnView is a market leading advanced photo viewer. Over the last years it has left the competition (especially venerable Irfan View) in the dust, et least in the freeware/shareware category ...
