Definitely RocketDock with the Stacks Docklet http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?t=46859. I've used RocketDock on XP Pro and now on Vista Ultimate without the slightest problem.

Don't use the .bat file, simply open a command prompt, go to the folder where the DLL is and type
It didn't work for me either... I don't know why he wrote the batch file in that way when it would have been enough to write the above line in the .bat
Code: Select all
regsvr32 HTMLPreviewShellExt.dll

Crash under Vista with Ave's Vista Stuff
Following XnTriq advice here http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?p=62695#62695 I installed the HTML Explorer Thumbnails http://mpj.tomaatnet.nl/vista/htmlpreviews.html . Now whenever I browse to a folder containing HTML files with XnView, as soon as it tries to render the file XnView crashes. ...

Was afraid so... the quickest solution I found in the meantime was to create in C# a very basic "web viewer" that I use with the "open with..." XnView option (and related Alt+number shortcut) to open the archived pages, just like an image editor, which is quicker than IE or anything else since it ac...

I would REALLY appreciate HTML rendering in XnView, especially page rendering in the viewer, to avoid having to open the saved pages in the browser. Since the only other option that comes to my mind is to open ALL the thousands of archived web pages I have - one by one - and re-save them as PDFs or ...

Since it seems that under Vista the OS support for HTML thumbnail generation has been removed (see here http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=14474&highlight=html , neither the plugin nor XnView by itself are able to create the thumbnails in my case, I am still waiting for confirmation from ot...

Thanks, Pierre; no, Vista doesn't show any preview for HTML files. Then, unless somebody proves me wrong (which I'd hope for, though it seems I'm the only one using XnView under Vista... ) I must assume that it's not possible to view thumbnails for HTML files under Vista, either with "plain"...

Sorry for this sort of crossposting (see my posts and others here http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=14197 and here http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=744 ), but it looks like there are several questions to be answered, currently fragmented over several posts and topics. Regarding ...

I have explicitly set these file types HTM HTML MHT MHTML XML XHTML to "show as thumbnail" in Custom file types, but still I can only see the icon. I have also removed the xhtml.usr plugin and removed the corresponding entry in the .ini file (I moved the whole xnview directory to a new Vista machine...
