I think the installation of codecs can lead to new problems:
No problem.
That's why I don't trust codec packs. With the mixture of their installing so many utilities and all the other things that people have on their PCs, you end up many possible routes that can be taken to play a file ...

No. But the videos work with VLC, WMP ...
And with another pc (Win7) it works (without klite ...) - but still without sound.

My problem is back ...
Now I use Windows 8 and XnView 2.0.
MTS- and MOV-Files aren´t shown in XnView ( no thumbnails / no preview ...), AVI works.
Any idea?

I´ve tried everything (installing new codecs ...). Now I´ve no more ideas.
Maybe you can find a way to change something in XnView?

Now I´ve installed the new version 1.98.5.
And everytime I install a new version I hope for sound when playing mts-files in XnView - without success.
Vista=sound / Win7=no sound

Now I´m back from 2 weeks snorkeling in Egypt - with more than 2000 pictures and mts-videos. :shock:
It´s great that mts-playback now works with Xn-View - but still without sound. What´s the problem? My PC or XnView + Windows 7 + mts?
