Re: Not showing graphic on double-click

Thanks for your help, but I am sorted now. It was a Windows association problem, allied to a screwed-up registry

Not showing graphic on double-click

Help! When I double-click on, say, a jpeg, XnView loads but does not display it in the window. It used to work, but I don't seem to be able to restore this feature. Thanks for any help. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Re: Blocking the importing of categories

Hello,
Have a search for UI-less Settings - there is an option in there to block the importation of categories

NoExtraFiles
When enabled, XnView completely disables the use of category.db file.
Value: Boolean (1/0), disabled by default

Re: Thumbnail refresh

Hi,

Not an expert by any means, but you could check Options > Browser > Thumbnails > Cache, and make sure Enable Caching is ticked

Re: Command line option -print

Hello,

Just as a matter of interest, I had another look, and apart from the listed options, I see:
-view
-hidden
-filelist
-print

No idea how they work or what they do, though!

Re: Command line option -print

Hello,

Well, I have just run the xnview main executable through a hex editor, and I spotted a /print and -print in the same area as the other command-line options.
Never used it myself, and don't know whether it works or not, but there it was

Automatically draw a border

Hi,

I have a folder of small jpegs. I would like to draw a 1pt border around each image, and then re-save it. Is this possible using a script?

Many thanks,

Re: Send by Email...

Thanks, Pierre,

I suppose if we don't fill in the sendto field, we can use whatever mail
program we are using at the time to obtain an address

Thanks,

Send by Email...

Hi, Using the Send by Email... menu item, why do we have to type in the recipient's address if it has not been used before? Why doesn't Xnview collect email addresses automatically? Also, if we edit xnview.ini manually, how many email Recipients are we allowed to type into the [Email] section? Many ...

Re: Re-saving images

OK, looked at the options, and have now started to re-save
my images, with quite a good reduction in size

Thanks a lot,

Re-saving images

Hi,

I'd like to re-save a batch of images using the Optimise Huffmann Table and Rebuild Embedded Thumbnails
(just to save a bit of space), and can't figure out how to set up a batch sequence to do the job

Is this possible? Any ideas?

Re: Removing a Line Screen

Rene,

Downloaded Image Analyzer, but couldn't see how to edit an
image using the Fourier plane. Any suggestions as to how
to do this?

Thanks for your interest, anyway

Re: Removing a Line Screen

XnTriq,

Many thanks for your reply and suggestions - quite a bit to go at there!

The Photoshop solution seems easy enough - I'll give it a go tonight

Thanks again,

Brian
