Besides taking precautions of creating a system restore point, I re-installed XNview over itself and then performed an uninstall which worked fine.

I have now successfully un-installed 1.97.8.

This is what I did.
I over-installed XNVivew and then re-booted. Created a restore point (for security) and then used control panel to un-install. The un-install worked perfectly.

Win7 -32 bit. Setup package Xnview-win-en.exe

I am willing to try again but only in a few days.

Uninstalling 1.97.8 corrupts default browser key

Using Win 7 with IE8 as my default browser, I uninstalled XNView 1.97.8. IE8 was no longer my default browser and I could no longer get that key to remain set. I tried various settings to rectify the situation but nothing would stick. I solved the problem using System Restore which brought back ...
