incompatible with ubuntu 20.10
I upgraded system from Ubuntu 20.04 to 20.10, and then I found XnviewMP freezed when I opened settings-catalog and some strange color blocks appeared on screen. 0.96.5 linux: wrong file number in catalog
version 0.96.5 show wrong number of files for modified folders in catalog window. The databases seem to be good, as file numbers are correct when opening with 0.96.4 or older version.

Re: 0.95 linux: "Explorer" no longer working
I fix it by removing libfreetype.so.6 from lib.
There is an incompatibility between the libfreetype provided and some system libraries (libcairo or something else).

0.95 linux: "Explorer" no longer working
I'm using Ubuntu with Mate desktop. Until 0.94 I can open the photo folder with Caja file manager with the "explorer" command. However it is no longer working in 0.95.
Not yet tested with other file managers.

Re: memory leak on linux
after some more test I think memory leak accurs mostly during photo editing, instead of thumbnail generating.

Re: memory leak on linux
Just normal JPEGs taken by a DSLR, size 5~10MB.
It seems that it relates to thumbnail generating. I can see the memory usage of Xnview expands significantly after finish generating thumbnails of a new folder containing a lot of photos. After editing, new thumbnails generated and more memory used.

Re: memory leak on linux
Yes, always. Sometimes it took just several minutes to eat up all memory, sometimes up to a hour.

memory leak on linux
It seems that there is a memory leak problem in recent versions of XnviewMP linux. When I view or edit photos in a folder containing hundreds of photos, all system memory (4gb in my computer) was eaten up in several minutes.

0.93: Poor image quality after rotating to an angle
It seems that something goes wrong with the rotate tool. When using it to edit an image, I sometimes get unacceptable results with jagged and dislocated lines like the example below. Using crop tool to rotate can get smooth lines as expected. original image: 1.JPG after rotated to 1 degree: 2.JPG
