Re: Can you disable image darkening when adjusting colors?
Ok, I found a solution / workaround - at least for KDE.
To globally disable this dimming of background when a dialog box is open: In KDE settings -> "Desktop Effects" disable "Dialog Parent" .
Or you could make a "window rule" to just disable desktop effects for XnViewMP: Right click on Xnview ...

Re: XNViewMP hangs on Linux after video in viewer or full screnn
So I did some digging and it seems this monitor never supported G-Sync or FreeSync, so it appears our problems are different.
I'm glad you were able to get a fix for yourself, but it seems I'll just have to wait. Hopefully your tip can help someone else though.
Thanks!

Re: XNViewMP hangs on Linux after video in viewer or full screnn
That is an external monitor?
It's my only monitor if that's what you mean.
From what I'm gathering here . FreeSync is for AMD GPUs, and G-Sync is for Nvidia. I'm using the nvidia driver, but somehow it's not supported on my system.

Did you mean in xnviewmp.ini?
In the System Settings application under Display Configuration I disabled Adaptive Sync (Never)
Thanks for the tip, but that doesn't seem to be an option on my system.

Re: Toggle Show all Files
and by clicking on the filter icon?
Sorry for the late reply.
I think it's clever how just clicking the filter icon works so it goes right back to your custom filter, but I'd still love to have a true keyboard shortcut if possible.
Thanks for pointing that out though. Still faster than what I ...

Toggle Show all Files
Is there a quicker way to show all files than to use the dropdown filter? I've looked through the shortcuts, but saw nothing that would help.
I just want a quick way to make sure there are not any stray files I might miss when deleting a directory because of the custom filter I use for normal ...

Re: Changed DE - Can no longer launch File Manager
I am fully up to date, so it would be the same version as you. If everything is working for you, then it must be my system.
I moved from XFCE to KDE, so there is probably some issue from changing DEs and not installing fresh from scratch.
Thank you very much for installing my system to test it ...

Re: Changed DE - Can no longer launch File Manager
While troubleshooting this other issue , I downloaded the latest tgz for troubleshooting and tried it for this issue as well.
Version 1.4.2 64bits (Jan 26 2023)
Libformat version 7.136
There is no difference at all. Neither will launch my file manager.

Re: Freezes when accessing NFS share
While continuing to troubleshoot I discovered the reason for the failure, but not the reason why yet.
I recently powered down one of my NFS shares as I don't need it any longer, but if I power it back up I can access it fine along with the other NFS share I wasn't able to access.

Re: Changed DE - Can no longer launch File Manager
Latest version us Qt 5.15.12 and not QT 5.15.8
That's odd. Arch is a rolling release and is considered bleeding edge. I can't imagine many releases have a more current version than Arch.
According to their software page for qt, there are only 2 packages at the .12 level.
