Correction: I tried to modify the File list checkbox, and at first the browser"s thumbnail display was not changed (not with a simple refresh). I had to close the browser window and re-open it for the change to show up.

I tried that on 1.97.8 Win32, but that did not change anything when using the *thumbnail* (without label) presentation. It did however change the *file list* presentation.

More exactly: It is the optional APP0/JFIF segment that has DPI info, or "pixel densities". A JPEG file may very well contain no resolution information at all and still be compliant with the JPEG standard.

Even though I set the thumbnail background to some light yellow color, some thumbnails use a white background.

FYI, I just checked that 1.98 beta 1 has the same rendering issues.
Moreover, I overlooked the following case :
- TIFF CMYK chunky with alpha (rendered as opaque).
