Update fails when carried out from non-admin account

Frequently in short time period lot of XnView updates are released/issued.
Therefore the update procedure must take no more than few minutes.

However, it does not succeed if to carry it out in following way.
Windows XP SP3, ShellExtensions for XnView are installed and enabled.

Thanks for your answers.

You tell "registry, then ini". Does it mean that order is fixed coded in XnView?
Let's assume the stationary XnView selects Registry, and the XnView on some removable media selects ini storage.
If then that one from removable media is being invoked which settings storage ...

Starting from optical media/usb drive

I wonder why to use XnView Portable (by PortableApps.com) if just copying the xnview binaries and all needed ini
and similar files to optical media or usb drive. As described by Pierre a long time ago.
Q.A Can you tell the reason please?

Slideshow by starting xnview on cd from autorun.inf

CD created for slide show. Minimal xnview installation on it. With own ini-file.
In dedicated directory. JPG files stored in separate folders.
The autorun.inf file has form as following:

[autorun]
open = .\_Tools_\XnView\xnview.exe .\Malta_2006\ -ini .\_Tools_\XnView\xnview.ini
icon = .\_Tools ...

Have just updated xnview on my wife's laptop.
To the latest one 1.93.4.
This theme still not available after update.

INI from user folder replaced by some defaults

Sometimes I experience a mysterious disappearing of my INI file.
I use the INI file placed in user folder.
I'm not able to tell now the circumstances when it occurs.
All I know, that from time to time suddenly I have to state xnview
starts with awful UI configuration, not that one created by me once ...

I know this behaviour since more then one versions

I can confirm this behaviour.
I have seen that already with some .82 version.
For all my JPG- cd media's with own xnview installation,
I have start it from autorun.bat with -ini option.
Otherwise the ini from hard disk is taken.

Sorry for a long silence from me regarding this issue report.
But I was hardly involved in other tasks.
Recently I have updated to 1.91.3 to try if there is some improvement.

No, my autorun batch on CD still has problems to find ini file.

Please help me to get it working.
